RPS vs DD Match Preview
PLAYER UPDATES: Shreyas Iyer and Angelo Mattews are the two impact players missing from the Delhi Daredevils crew. The Sri Lankan all-rounder is expected to miss another week of IPL action and the talented Mumbai batsman, Iyer, after being diagnosed with chicken pox is yet to reach peak fitness.
TEAM COMBINATION: Delhi Daredevils fielded a heavy bowling unit in their previous encounter against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The did manage to contain the flamboyant batting unit to a palpable target, but it’s the batting that the Delhi lads need to reflect on. Rishab Pant was the only bright spark in what seemed a circumspect top order.
The likes of Sanju Samson, Aditya Tare and Karun Nair have to step up and prove their potential. Corey Anderson for Carlos Braithwaite is the only plausible change, considering the former’s knack to play both as an attacker and a strike churner. Rishab Pant at the top of the order with Sam Billings will also be a subtle alteration Delhi can consider.
The Rising Pune Supergiant were off to a rollicking start but missed a trick or two in their second game, where they were comprehensively beaten by the Kings XI Punjab. With Imran Tahir being the only bowler to have hit form, the RPS unit requires the Indian contingent to be instrumental, if they fancy their chances of qualifying for the play-offs. The top order looks finely settled. The bowling cluster certainly needs a twitch. Ashok Dinda is very likely to be replaced and they do have some exciting Indian talent on the bench.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR RPS Vs DD Match
Imran Tahir going unsold in the auction was a shocker. Tahir though was brought into the team to replace the injured Mitchell Marsh and he’s proven to the world why he’s the #1 bowler in the shortest format. Gone are the days when leg spinners would bowl loopy turners; the game has evolved and with it the art to fox the batsmen has changed too. Tahir bowls a flatter trajectory and his sliders have tested and baffled the best. His spell against the Mumbai Indians was a masterclass and he’ll be a prime contender to watch out for.
Tahir in his last two outings: 2/29, 3/28.
Chris Morris had a sublime previous season; 12 wickets in 12 games and an aggregate of 195 runs in 7 innings at 65 with a strike rate of 178.89 is only a blue print of what he’s capable of. With the calibre of hitting the 90mph mark with remarkable consistency and accuracy this South African all-rounder will be a hostile force to handle.
Morris in his last game: 3/21.
RPS vs DD Match Prediction & Who will Win ?
Both the teams finished second best in their prior games. RPS though, did taste victory in their first game and they’ll look to stamp their authority right from ball one. With the world’s best batsmen in Steve Smith, the finest finisher in MS Dhoni, the #1 bowler in Imran Tahir and the most complete all-rounder in Ben Stokes, RPS perhaps are expected to better their winning percentage.
